Laptop BatteriesWe always include a battery and a functioning, tested AC Adapter with the laptops we sell.As we do not replace the laptop batteries, we assume they are the original supplied when the laptop was originally manufactured. Consequently, the battery is excluded from our warranty. A battery is included, but is untested and sold "as is". Laptop batteries are difficult to manufacture (billion dollar plants) and are a disposable, consumable item. They typically only hold a charge for one to two hours. Over time they retain their charge for progressively shorter periods of time until eventually they no longer hold a charge. The amount of time a battery consumes the charge depends on the application, e.g., an idle laptop requires less power than typing or communicating via a wireless modem. We are diligent as to disclosing the exclusion of the battery from our warranty as many Customers assume the battery will hold a charge and are disappointed if this is not the case. Many customers (80% or more) use the laptop plugged in, not needing a functioning battery. We do include a tested, warranted AC adapter to ensure the laptop can be used plugged into AC power. In some cases we have working, tested batteries...if you need one ask us. We sell refurbished batteries from $25+ and warrant they'll hold a charge for at least one hour on "stand by" mode. If you'd like for us to find a working battery if it's not available on the website, it is possible we can do so. It will extend the time of your laptop delivery if a tested battery is not immediately available and costs an additional $35. We do not inventory new batteries. Laptop batteries are unique for each manufacturer and often for each laptop. There are thousands of different kinds of laptop batteries. New batteries range in price from $75 to $150 or more. |
